MATTEO EYDALLIN

Steppen - or guardian of the snowy steppes - is the nickname of Matteo Eydallin, alpine skier, Italian national team athlete and multi-time world champion. Born and raised in Sauze d'Oulx, Matteo started skiing at the tender age of three. The inclination towards endurance came soon and ski mountaineering, which makes fatigue the undisputed queen, became his way of experiencing the mountains. A mountain that for him is not only home, but also a guide: ""The mountains are mute masters and make silent disciples"" as he likes to recall, quoting Goethe.
